Not long after the interview, Variety reported that “Frozen Empire” came in on the higher side of box office expectations.

That tops the $44 million earned by “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” in its opening frame back in November, 2021. That film went on to earn just over $204 million worldwide.
“Frozen Empire” will have this upcoming week to gain ground on its predecessor before some … um … big competition arrives from another movie with “Empire” in its title: “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.”
